SR automotive and Cats-I are building a Drift racer to showcase their products and services. The cars debut was anticipated for the start of the 2007 Australian D1 Championship but a busy second half of '06 has meant little time spare for the car.

Photos show various aspects of the cars preparation. The body of the 180SX has been to the roll cage fabricators and a structural steel roll cage fitted. This will mean that body flex will not interfere with the adjustments made to the suspension.

The body kit has been fitted. The guards front and rear are pumped for larger rubber, a front bar for better airflow to the intercooler and radiators, and side skirts and rear bar for better aero during drifting. A rear wing isn't being fitted.

The engine is an SR20 with forged pistons, HKS cams and followers, quad throttle body injection and a stack of other goodies are in the mix.

The suspension will start with Ikeya coil over's, with Ikeya adjustable arms and zero deflection rose joints.
